INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE: Celebrate 4th of July President Whitmore-Style

Ever since Bill Pullman led an air squadron of amateur pilots into combat against invading aliens in Independence Day back in 1996, President Whitmore’s inspiring pre-battle speech has been a July 4th necessity. In honor of the holiday, not only did 20th Century Fox just release a clip of the original speech for you to enjoy to your heart’s content, but now you can also record a video of yourself delivering it using Dubsmash. If you do feel like making your own speech Dubsmash video, be sure to share it with the hashtag #IndependenceDubs because then Fox might include it in an official Independence Day Dubsmash remix.

You can give the speech a watch below and if you’re looking for even more ID content, Jeff Goldblum just joined Facebook and Instagram and kicked of his social media run with a new image from set. Independence Day: Resurgence is scheduled to hit theaters on June 24, 2016, and also stars Liam Hemsworth, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward.

Here’s the official synopsis for Independence Day: Resurgence: We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
