Anyone who takes Judeo-Christianity seriously must wonder why ‘God’ and ‘Angels’ frequented biblical figures yet no one in modern times seems to be blessed with such encounters. Perhaps what is left of humanity is simply unworthy of God’s time? Yet countless people across the globe report being visited by beings from the sky and are dismissed as delusional or dishonest. Many people these days are contemplating the possibility that ‘Aliens’ and ‘Angels and demons’ could be one in the same. What follows is an analysis of Biblical passages which may support these claims. The TRUTH shall be in the eye of the reader.
I wasn’t there to witness God’s miraculous intervention freeing the Hebrews from Egyptian enslavement; I only have the biblical account to examine.
So, considering the possibility that what they thought was God may have been a space alien with advanced technology, what clues can be found in Exodus to suggest this may be the case?
What first stood out to me was the description of what the Israelites were following through the wilderness. Exodus 13:21 “By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light.” A pillar of a cloud by day and a pillar of light by night?
14:19 “Then the Angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, 20 coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel.” Huh? 33:9 “As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the Lord spoke with Moses.”
40:36 “In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out;
37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted.
38 So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.”
Ok, I’m already convinced there’s more to the story than what church teaches. What exactly was this flying object identified as a cloud?
Throughout the book, the LORD and his angels visited Moses regularly, providing assistance in smiting anyone who stood in their way. They instructed the Isrealites on every manner of proper living from moral codes to sanitary food preparation to treating medical conditions. They even provided food and water in times of trouble.
Exodus 15:25 “Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink” What kind of wood was this? 16:31 “The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey.” Was this some sort of synthetic food?
In return for the LORD’s assistance, he expected obedience and gifts including burnt offerings.
Exodus 29:15 “Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
16 Slaughter it and take the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar.
17 Cut the ram into pieces and wash the internal organs and the legs, putting them with the head and the other pieces.
18 Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.” So… God likes the smell of barbecue… I do too…
In chapter 25, instructions were given to build a golden box called The Ark of the Covenant.
Whatever was housed in this box would cause what can only be described as radiation sickness to anyone in close proximity.
1 Samuel 5:9 “But after they had moved it, the Lord’s hand was against that city, throwing it into a great panic. He afflicted the people of the city, both young and old, with an outbreak of tumors.”
What exactly was in that box with magic powers? Why was it apparently radioactive?
Moses alone was not able to deliver the Israelites to the ‘Promised Land.’ For that they needed Joshua. In Chapter 6, we see this mysterious ‘Ark’ again. For 7 days, by the LORD’s commandment, the priests marched around the city of Jericho carrying this gold box and 7 trumpets.
15 On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times.
16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! …
20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.
Ok, so now this ‘ritual’ somehow managed to cause the city wall to simply fall down? What was in that box?
It gets even weirder in Chapter 10. 12 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on its enemies,
as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.
14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! The sun stopped in the middle of the sky?
Now we are talking about a space alien with some HARD CORE technology, if this story is to be believed at all. We are talking about a space alien who has complete control of THIS planet which we humans call home.
Whoever the ‘God’ that led the Isrealites out of Egypt was, so the story goes, he not only had advanced technology, but had command over the Sun and the Moon. Also as the story goes he gave those humans, which he considered his own children, a set of laws and instructions, which were later modified by a ‘Jesus’ character.
Whether you are aware of this or not, the King James Version of the Bible is the foundation of our civilized society- it IS the basis of what we call common law. There is more to the story, of course, as can be revealed if proper sources are found and proper questions are asked, but this article has only been a an exploration of one question: Was the God of Moses a Space Alien?
