If I were a member of the LGBT community, I would be observing the left with an particularly jaundiced eye from this moment forward.
While Democrats are definitely willing to fundraise and pontificate off LGBT challenges, what they are not willing to do is admit that the Religion of Peace is by far the greatest trigger of violence against the LGBT community worldwide, and is almost solely responsible for fatal violence against the LGBT community in the modern world.
From the honest LGBT viewpoint, no matter what problems you believe might ought to be addressed in the Christian world, the issues in the Muslim world are at least ten times even worse. And anybody who was truly on the side of the LGBT community would stand up and express that.
Therefore take note: however much the left purports to be on your side, most are frightened of offending the Muslims even more.
